Why Bandai is giving Naruto TCG so much time before launch
Bandai's confirmed Summer 2027 global release puts the Naruto Card Game about 18 months out from where we are now - longer than most TCG launches usually run.
Gen Con 2026 already had hands-on tutorials and original card art on display, a full year before release. That's not a coincidence - Bandai has done something similar with One Piece and Dragon Ball: get players involved early, build out the organized play side, and use the time before launch to get the game ready.
That extra time gives Bandai room for more playtesting and a smoother tournament rollout instead of rushing the game out. It also gives Naruto some breathing room before the launch.
Worth watching: demo tournaments and early play sessions between now and 2027 could lead to a few rule tweaks before the game goes retail. Keep an eye on the roadmap as more events get added.
