WHAT BANDAI'S ONE PIECE AND DRAGON BALL TCG'S REVEAL ABOUT NARUTO'S FUTURE
What One Piece and Dragon Ball can tell us about Naruto TCG
Bandai's already used a similar approach with One Piece and Dragon Ball - both launched as approachable card games with real depth underneath. Naruto has some of the same ingredients, but there's no guarantee it follows exactly the same path.
Both existing games use color-based decks and resource management that's easy to pick up but rewards real sequencing once you're playing competitively. Naruto's Leader, Chakra and Summon system already points in a similar direction.
Bandai also isn't shy about premium alt-art and chase cards once a game's out. It's reasonable to expect some of that here too, especially around conventions and in-store events like we've already seen with the CP-001 Chakra Card variants.
The one wrinkle: Naruto already has TCG history (the old CCG), unlike One Piece and Dragon Ball, which had a clean slate. That might push Bandai to lean harder into differentiating this version instead of just running the same formula.
